# Why Get Trained in Digital Accessibility and Where to Start?

With the arrival of spring, we had the opportunity to discuss an essential topic with Cynthia: training in digital accessibility. In an increasingly connected world, ensuring that digital content is accessible to everyone is crucial. But where should you start, and which training programs are the most relevant?

### **Understanding Digital Accessibility: A Crucial First Step**

If you are interested in digital accessibility, it is important to begin with an introductory course. **"Understanding Accessibility in Its Application Context"** is a foundational training that provides insight into what accessibility is and how it impacts users.

Another essential course is **an introduction to accessibility validation**. It teaches how to test websites and documents to ensure they meet accessibility standards, particularly using screen readers.

### **Who Should Take These Courses?**

Digital accessibility training primarily attracts developers, designers, and graphic artists, as they are the ones who create and implement digital content. However, one crucial group is often underrepresented: managers.

**"Project managers and team leaders should also take training, at least for awareness. Understanding the basic principles of accessibility would allow them to integrate these requirements from the outset in their projects and allocate the necessary budget."**

Among the available courses, **applied accessibility training** is one of the most appreciated. It provides practical solutions to make websites and documents accessible.
