Happy new year!
This week, all members of Ciao’s Inclusive Digital Studio came together to reflect on the past year and share the goals that will guide our work in the year ahead. In a hybrid work environment, these in-person moments of connection are especially valuable — rare, yet essential opportunities to reconnect, exchange ideas, and strengthen our team bonds.
It was also a time to celebrate our achievements and acknowledge the challenges we've overcome over the past months. A year ago, around this same time, many of us looked at our annual goals with a sense of uncertainty. Today, we’re proud to say that not only did we meet those goals — we exceeded them.
During this meeting, we also explored ways to better support our team’s professional development. We chose a hands-on, collaborative approach: giving everyone the chance to work on proof-of-concept projects or internal initiatives, allowing them to build and apply their skills in a meaningful and practical context.
A common challenge in professional services — like those offered by the Inclusive Digital Studio — is that our capacity to experiment is often limited by our clients’ risk tolerance. And that’s completely understandable: clients want their projects to be safe and predictable. To strike a balance while continuing to explore emerging technologies and deepen our expertise, we need to carve out space specifically for experimentation.
With that in mind, we created four thematic teams focused on key areas: development, project management, analysis, and accessibility. This is a great opportunity for team members who aren’t yet specialized in a particular field to broaden their horizons, explore new roles, and gain a deeper understanding of our collective work. For example, a software developer might be interested in learning more about project management or functional analysis — and that’s exactly what these cross-learning groups are designed to offer.
Got a project in mind? Tell us about it — right this way!
